The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.14 was between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi. GT beat DC by 1 run in a thrilling encounter that went down to the wire.

Match Summary

DC won the toss and opted to bowl first. Shubman Gill came in for the side after missing out on the last game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). GT openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill started well, with Gill scoring a superb 70 off 45 balls.

Jos Buttler took charge and smacked the DC bowlers all over the park, scoring 52 off 27 balls. After the powerplay, GT’s score was 68/1. The former England captain scored fifty off just 24 balls and built a fifty partnership with Gill being a mere watcher at the non-striker’s end.

After Buttler’s dismissal, Gill and Washington Sundar charged against the DC bowlers, with Sundar scoring a half-century off 30 balls. The two batters stitched a partnership of 105 runs for the third wicket and put the Titans in the driver’s seat.

Gill was dismissed after playing a superb innings, and Sundar was also firing down, scoring a half-century. The Southpaw was dismissed with the score off 55 runs as GT could score 210/4 runs in their 20 overs.

DC’s Innings

Coming out to chase, DC openers, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka, started decently, scoring at a good pace. Nissanka was the aggressor as he smashed 23 runs of the final over of the powerplay against Ashok Sharma. However, he was dismissed after scoring 41 off 24 deliveries.

Rahul scored a fifty in 29 deliveries, but DC suffered a setback as Nitish Rana and Sameer Rizvi were dismissed by Rashid Khan. DC were 113/3 at one stage, and then it was a flurry of wickets as David Miller also went back, retired hurt, with the Proteas batter having injured his finger while playing a shot.

Thrilling Finish

Late on, Axar Patel went back as Rashid Khan picked up his third wicket in the game. Tristan Stubbs was back for the score of 7 runs after a brilliant run out by Sai Sudharsan. Rahul was there at the other end as the wicket-keeper batter scored a brilliant 92 runs off 52 balls as DC were in trouble for 166/6.

The DC vs GT match went down to the wire as Miller came back after his finger injury and walked out to bat yet again. With 13 needed in the last over, Miller will be furious with himself as he failed to get DC over the line, as DC lost by one run.
