Yorkshire Bring in Hasan Ali for T20 Blast

Yorkshire Cricket Club has made a significant move by signing Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali as one of their overseas players for the Vitality Blast. The 31-year-old replaces Naveen-ul-Haq, who has been ruled out with injury, bringing a wealth of experience and a skillset that will be invaluable to the group.

About Hasan Ali

Hasan Ali is a highly-experienced T20 cricketer, having represented Pakistan 57 times and played in various leagues around the world. He claimed 44 wickets at 14.93 in three spells with Warwickshire in the Blast between 2023 and 2025 and is currently in fine form in the PSL. His impressive skillset and extensive experience make him an excellent addition to the Yorkshire squad.

Replacement for Naveen-ul-Haq

Naveen-ul-Haq, the Afghanistan quick, missed the T20 World Cup in February after suffering a stress fracture to his right shoulder and will not be fit to take up his deal at Headingley. The injury has left a void in the Yorkshire team, but the signing of Hasan Ali will undoubtedly fill the gap.

Expectations from Hasan Ali

Hasan Ali is expected to be available for Yorkshire throughout the Blast group stage, as well as two County Championship fixtures, against Warwickshire and Leicestershire. The general manager of cricket, Gavin Hamilton, expressed his delight in securing Hasan’s services at short notice, saying, “Whilst we’re naturally disappointed to not see Naveen join us this year, in Hasan we have an exceptional replacement.”
