Tom Latham Wary of Bangladesh Pace Attack Ahead of First ODI
The New Zealand cricket team has arrived in Bangladesh for a white-ball series, where they will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The first ODI is set to begin on April 17.
Ahead of the match, New Zealand captain Tom Latham is clearly cautious about Bangladesh’s pace attack. In the recent series against Pakistan, rising speedster Nahid Rana grabbed attention with his fiery pace. Alongside him, experienced bowlers like Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman have been performing consistently for quite some time.
Latham’s Pre-Match Press Conference
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Latham said, “Bangladesh have a very experienced pace attack. In these conditions, Taskin, Mustafiz, and Rana have been doing well over the last few years. We are prepared for everything. The surface looks good. Spin might also play a role. Bangladesh are playing good cricket right now, so we expect a tough challenge. It’s a bit hotter here than New Zealand, but we are trying to adapt well and stay fresh for the full 100 overs.”
He also spoke highly of the Bangladesh team as a whole, “Bangladesh are a quality side. They just won a series against Pakistan. We are all excited to be here and play in Bangladesh. In these conditions, they are a very strong team. We are looking forward to taking on the challenge.”
