RCB Tops IPL 2026 Table with Convincing Win Over LSG
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have taken the top spot in the IPL 2026 points table after a dominant win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), thanks to impressive bowling performances from Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya.
Hazlewood’s Excellence
With Hazlewood back in the team, and bowling three of the first seven overs, RCB gained an early stranglehold over the game. On a pitch which was dry and holding up a bit, he made life extremely hard for the batters by never giving them a chance to free their arms.
Krunal’s Landmark
Krunal Pandya has become one of the 12 spinners with 100 wickets in the IPL, a list dominated by wristspinners and mystery spinners. His ability to work within his limitations and push against them has been impressive, as seen in his recent performances.
Kohli Takes the Orange Cap
Virat Kohli played his first game as an Impact Sub and hit six fours and a six in his first 14 balls, showing his willingness to manufacture shots and hit in the air. LSG’s tactic of bowling too full did not pay off, and Kohli took advantage of the situation.
Patidar Power
Rajat Patidar came in and played a very aggressive innings, clearing the boundary 21 times this season, more than anybody else. His balls-per-six ratio is under five, and he has been a key player for RCB this season.
RCB’s win has taken them to the top of the IPL 2026 points table, and they will look to continue their strong performance in the upcoming games.
