Anamul Haque Bijoy Set to Return to Cricket Amidst BPL Dues Clearance
Anamul Haque Bijoy has softened his stance and is now set to return to the field in the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL), pending the clearance of his unpaid BPL 2025 dues.
Bijoy had played for Durbar Rajshahi in the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and is still owed 3 million taka by the franchise. He mentioned that the previous board, led by Aminul Islam Bulbul, had almost settled the payment before changes occurred in the board.
Bijoy Speaks Out
Speaking about the situation, Bijoy said, “In a way, I feel both lucky and unlucky. I’ve seen three different BCB presidents since the BPL ended. Now the matter is in the hands of Tamim Iqbal. I spoke to the previous board, and they said the payment was almost ready. But then the board changed. After that, I spoke with the current board, and they assured me I’ll get the money soon. Hopefully, everything will be sorted within a week or 5-10 days.”
When asked whether the board had apologized to him, Bijoy said it’s not really about saying sorry. “It’s more about making things clear that I didn’t do anything wrong. There were a lot of different narratives in the media and on social platforms. I just want the board to present the situation properly. I’ve spoken with the BCB president, and they’ve treated the matter seriously and respectfully.”
A Call for Positivity
However, the negative talk around him, especially related to fixing allegations, still hasn’t fully gone away. Bijoy shared his frustration, saying, “Everywhere I look, there’s so much negativity. I hardly see anything positive. Social media is full of negative comments. I just want people to speak in a positive way. If we all think positively, as a team and as a nation, it will help create a better environment for everyone.”
As Bijoy prepares to return to the cricket field, fans can expect a renewed sense of determination and passion from the player. With the clearance of his unpaid dues pending, Bijoy is poised to make a strong comeback in the Dhaka Premier League.
