Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Lead Rout of Delhi Capitals

Royal Challengers Bengaluru completed a dominating win over Delhi Capitals, winning by nine wickets with 81 balls to spare.

The Delhi Capitals innings got off to a disastrous start, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood tearing through the top order. The powerplay score of 13 was the lowest in a full IPL game, with DC crumbling to 8 for 6.

Bhuvneshwar and Hazlewood made the most of the swing and bounce on offer, returning figures of 3-0-5-3 and 3-0-8-3 respectively in the first six overs. The Delhi pitch offered plenty of assistance to the bowlers, and the RCB duo took full advantage.

Porel Takes DC Past Lowest IPL Score

A 35-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Abhishek Porel and David Miller gave DC some respite, but it was too little, too late. Porel top-scored with 30, taking DC past the lowest IPL total of 49.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru chase was a straightforward one, with Devdutt Padikkal leading the way with an unbeaten 34. The win narrowed Punjab Kings’ lead at the top of the table to just one point and boosted RCB’s net run rate.
