Towhid Hridoy: Tamim Iqbal’s Leadership Brings Positive Change to Bangladesh Cricket
Tamim Iqbal’s Leadership: A New Era for Bangladesh Cricket
There has been a significant shift in the leadership of Bangladesh cricket lately, with Tamim Iqbal at the helm as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Since taking charge, the former captain has made several impactful decisions that are being widely appreciated by the players and fans alike.
According to Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy, Tamim’s presence has created a positive atmosphere among the players. Hridoy stated, “It’s not just me, every player feels there’s a positive change. After coming in, he increased everyone’s salary. For a long time, first-class cricketers’ salaries were stuck at the same level. Honestly, many players couldn’t properly support their families with what they were earning before.”
Tamim’s initiatives haven’t been limited to players only. He has also taken steps to improve the experience for fans at the Mirpur stadium and introduced several plans to honor both current and former cricketers. All of this has helped him earn the trust of the players.
Hridoy added, “He has taken some really good initiatives for the fans as well. He’s thinking about them too. Everything he has done so far has been good. From the players’ point of view, everyone is happy.”
The Key to Tamim’s Success
One of the key reasons behind this comfort, according to Hridoy, is that Tamim has only recently retired from playing. That makes it easier for players to connect with him and speak openly. “Since he just stopped playing recently, every player can go up to the president and speak their mind freely. From players to fans, whatever he has done so far has been positive. Hopefully, more good things will come,” he said.
With Tamim Iqbal’s leadership, Bangladesh cricket is experiencing a positive transformation. The increased salaries, improved fan experience, and initiatives to honor cricketers have all contributed to a sense of optimism among the players and fans. As Hridoy noted, “Every player feels there’s a positive change”, and it will be exciting to see how this new era unfolds for Bangladesh cricket.
