You’ve done big damage
Bangladesh all-rounder Aminul Islam Bulbul has fired a strongly worded letter at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), sparking fresh tension between the two nations ahead of their forthcoming tours and tournaments.
The cricketer’s damning critique is the latest development in the increasingly fractious relationship between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and BCCI, which is set to escalate in the coming weeks with India hosting the T20 World Cup and Bangladesh making their first-ever trip to the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Roots of the Feud
At the heart of the dispute lies the contentious issue of past politics, where Bangladesh Cricket Federation was allegedly coerced into supporting Bangladesh Awami League, following the 2021 Bangladesh general election. BCB vehemently denied any wrongdoings but was unable to quell the murmurs of protests over the years.
