CPL 2026: A New Era for Cricket in the Caribbean
The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has announced that it will stage fixtures at Arnos Vale in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time this year, while confirming an August 7 start date. This move marks a significant expansion for the league, with a record-equalling eight nations hosting fixtures, including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
A New Venue with a Rich History
Arnos Vale has hosted 36 men’s internationals, including five matches at the 2024 T20 World Cup, which were dominated by spin. According to Pete Russell, the league’s chief executive, Arnos Vale is “a fantastic venue with a proud cricket history”. He added: “We know the fans in St Vincent and the Grenadines are passionate about the game, and we can’t wait to experience the energy and atmosphere they will bring.”
Jamaica Kingsmen Join the League
The CPL will run from August 7 until September 20 this year and will include a seventh franchise for the first time, with Jamaica Kingsmen joining the league. This new addition promises to bring a fresh wave of excitement to the tournament.

Five teams will be involved in the three confirmed fixtures at Arnos Vale. The fixtures are as follows:
- August 7 – Jamaica Kingsmen vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons
- August 8 – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders
