North Zone Wins Big at BCL, Amite Hasan Scores Century and Robiul and Sofor Take Fifer

North Zone wrapped up a comfortable win in just three days in the BCL, beating South Zone by 10 wickets – Asia Cup style dominance. It was a match where both bat and ball made the difference. Amite Hasan scored a brilliant century, while Rakibul Hasan and Sofor Ali picked up five-wicket hauls.

At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground, North Zone started Day 3 with 379 for 6 in their first innings. But they couldn’t add much more, just 47 extra runs. Pritom Kumar, who was unbeaten on 151 the previous day, got out for 155. Sunzamul Islam added 45 runs.

For South Zone, Sofor Ali was the standout bowler, taking 5 wickets for 99 runs. They scored 314 in their first innings.

Trailing by 114 runs, South Zone had a tough start in their second innings. Robiul tore through the top order, taking the first four wickets on his own. Later, Taijul Islam joined in, and South Zone quickly slipped to 67 for 6. However, Samiun Basir Ratul and Moin Khan tried to fight back with an 80-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Moin scored a good 42, while Ratul added a crucial 53 runs.

Robiul finished with impressive figures of 5 wickets for 53 runs.

Chasing a small target of 61 runs, North Zone had no trouble at all. Akbar Ali, the captain, led by example as they reached it in just 9.4 overs. Sabbir Hossan played a quick and aggressive knock, scoring 54 runs off just 35 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Under Akbar Ali’s captaincy, North Zone sealed an easy win.

In the other game at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, East Zone put themselves in a strong position thanks to Amite Hasan’s outstanding innings. Starting Day 3 at 243 for 3, they kept building. Later, Sofor Ali took 5 wickets for 53 runs and Amite Hasan scored 100 runs, putting East Zone in the lead.
