Mitchell Marsh Scores Blistering Hundred in LSG vs RCB Match

Lucknow Super Giants opener Mitchell Marsh scored a remarkable hundred in his team’s IPL 2026 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The right-hander completed his second IPL century in 49 balls, laced with 9 fours and 8 sixes.

Marsh and Arshin Kulkarni added 95 runs in 9.2 overs, with the latter amassing only 17 runs off 24 deliveries. Australia’s T20I captain played aggressive cricket from the start of the innings after his team lost the toss, and despite two rain interruptions, he didn’t look under pressure, reaching a well-compiled ton in the 14th over of the match.

Mitchell Marsh’s Performance in IPL 2026

Marsh has been the best LSG batter in the 19th season, while the rest of the willow holders have not made impactful contributions. The veteran has been a part of six franchises, amassing 1641 runs in 65 games. His runs have come at an average of 29.30 and a strike rate of 144.58, including two centuries and 11 fifties.

In IPL 2026, he has accumulated 363 runs at an average of 40.33 and a strike rate of 154.46. Marsh posted 35 runs in the campaign opener against the Delhi Capitals. He then suffered a slump, managing 14, 15, and 11 in the next three games against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, and the Gujarat Titans, respectively.

He returned to form against RCB, making a contribution of 40. In the next two games vs PBSK and RR, Marsh added 40 and 55 to the total. He was dismissed for 2 runs in the home game against the Knight Riders, but went berserk in front of the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, scoring 44.

LSG’s Current Standing in IPL 2026

Meanwhile, Lucknow are in the 10th spot, having won just two out of their 9 fixtures. With Lucknow Super Giants almost out of the playoff race, it would be interesting to see if the team management hands over the captaincy to Marsh from the next season.
