Shoriful Islam Reveals Conversation with Mohammad Amir During PSL

Mohammad Amir is currently playing in the PSL in Rawalpindi, while Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana have previously played for Peshawar Zalmi. A brief video of Shoriful speaking with Amir during a practice session attracted many fans.

Now back in Bangladesh for the New Zealand series, Shoriful has finally revealed what they talked about. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the second ODI, Shoriful said, “I was just talking with Amir bhai during practice. I asked him about bowling grips – how he holds the ball with both the new and old ball. He’s a really friendly person. He came up and spoke to me himself, which felt really nice.”

Shoriful’s performance with the ball in the first ODI, taking 2 wickets for 27 runs, was especially commendable given that he wasn’t even meant to play the match. Mustafizur Rahman’s injury just before the game made way for him.

When asked when he found out he would be playing, Shoriful replied, “Just 2-3 seconds before the toss. They told me I was playing. I told Rishad (Hossain), and he said, ‘It’s your destiny – maybe it was written for you.’ After that, I did my run-up, warmed up, and went out to play. Maybe it was meant for me.”
